Event #1

Sonia Rodrigues Attended on 11/12/2020 Beyond the hashtag: The art and activism of #BlackLivesMatter The webinar was led by Patrice Cullors who has been fighting for antiblack racism. According to Patrice we hold the presidents accountable for BlackLivesMatter and when they fail to listen to our people who take away their power by electing a new president who wants to see change. We hold them accountable because we want change and if change is not achieved we demand it through protests. We as a black community have to push the government and police to fight just as they fight for white people.

Blog #10

Play is very important for youth's development. As an educator I have learned to implement play in daily teaching because I have seen great improvement in their academic. As we all know being an educator you learn daily and this is the beauty of being an educator.  With this weeks article we also learned about  chillaxing which I had a different definition for prior to reading it. It's very interesting to see others point of view in this controversial topic.  I do agree with the author black people have to work twice as hard to prove themselves. Working in an education field I want to see change not only because my black children will be out there one day but also because we need to stand up for change.
