(Dis)ability

What are the visible and invisible rules/ codes of conduct that govern Marcus’s school and classroom?

At the beginning I has the assumption that Marcus was inconsiderate because the teacher would give him many opportunities and every single time he managed to disappoint her. As the stories unrevealed i began to notice that Marcus had a lot of support in the school. His teacher and principal were very understanding of his situation and provided all the support they could to help Marcus. The invisible part of code of conduct that govern Marcus´s school was all the support he was getting without knowing. The visible code of conduct that govern Marcus´s school and classroom was the repercussions that Marcus´s had to face like everyone else regardless of his background. All the visible and invisible code that govern the school are in place to help and benefit our students.

How are they similar/ different to youth spaces that you know? How might these rules connect to Ferri’s discussion of norms, normalcy and dis/ability?

The invisible and visible code of conduct are the same in my youth space. It can also very depending on the situation. The connection i see is that normalcy and ability has power over disability and abnormal. Those who are seen as  abnormal and disable are to be fixed by the ones who are normal and able.
